Two Coptic Kids Face Trial In Egypt Over ‘Insulting Islam’

Two Coptic boys aged 9 and 10 are awaiting trial after an Islamic
cleric accused them of tearing up and urinating on the Koran. The boys’
families say the boys are illiterate and found the Koran pages while
playing with garbage.
Sheik Gamal Shamardal, a Muslim cleric and the local leader of a
hardline Islamist group, referred two local boys to police in the
village of Ezbet Marco in the southern province of Beni Suef. He claimed
that neighbors saw Nabil Nagy Rizk, 10, and Mina Nady Farag, 9, take
pages of the Koran behind a local mosque and urinate on them.
Before turning to the authorities, Shamardal took the two to their Coptic church, but, he says, the priest dismissed the incident as “child’s play” which was not meant as an offense.
Rizk’s father later pleaded that the boys are illiterate; they were playing with garbage looking for “something useful” in a bin when they found a white bag with some tarnished pages. They put their finding next to the mosque as they did not know what to do with it.
As police arrested the boys on Tuesday and took them to a juvenile facility, an angry crowd gathered around the police station. Security forces had to call in more staff, fearing clashes between Muslims and Copts. Thursday, the boys were released "due to their young age", but no acquittal followed.
A Coptic activist and lawyer said President Mohamed Morsi had to intervene to have the kids freed.
“I submitted a request to President Morsi… and the president gave instructions for the prosecutor to release the two children,” Naguib Guebrail told Agence France Presse. The president ruled the detention breached international conventions on children’s rights that have been signed by Egypt.
If the charges have not been dropped, the boys will have to face prosecutors again on Sunday. Police said so far it is only clear that the boys were caught with tarnished pages of the Koran, but no one actually saw them urinating on them.
Accusations of insulting Islam have increased in Egypt after an amateur US-made film mocking the Prophet Mohammed sparked fury in the country last month, the Associated Press remarks. Most prosecuted come from Christian minorities, but taking children into custody is a rarity even at this time.
Earlier this month Coptic school teacher Bishoy Kamel was sentenced to six years in jail for posting cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed, deemed defamatory, on his Facebook page. Another Coptic man, Albert Saber, is still in custody awaiting trial after being charged with posting the US inflammatory film, Innocence of Muslims, on his Facebook account.
On the other hand, offenders of Christianity are also prosecuted. For example, an Islamic preacher is on trial for tearing up and burning a copy of the Bible during the September protests against the film Innocence of Muslims.

‘Blasphemous act arranged’?
Shamardal says a mere apology is “not acceptable". 'To Annihilate Israel We Need 24 Hours, An Excuse'

Hojjat al-Eslam Ali Shirazi, the representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to the Islamic Republic’s Qods Force, said this week that Iran needed just “24 hours and an excuse” to destroy Israel.
In his first public interview in a year, reported in the Persian-language Jahan News, which is close to the regime, Shirazi said if Israel attacked Iran, the Islamic Republic would be able to turn the conflict into a war of attrition that would lead to Israel’s destruction.
“If such a war does happen, it would not be a long war, and it would benefit the entire Islamic umma [the global community of Muslims]. We have expertise in fighting wars of attrition and Israel cannot fight a war of attrition,” Shirazi said, referring to Iran’s eight-year war of attrition against Iraq.
Khamenei appointed Shirazi a year ago as his representative to the Qods Force, the highly secretive extraterritorial wing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, which reports directly to Khamenei.
The Qods Force, whose exact size is unknown, is responsible for IRGC operations outside Iran, including in Syria.
In August, the US Department of the Treasury identified the Qods Force as “a conduit for Iran’s material support to the Syrian General Intelligence Directorate,” and in 2011 designated Qods Force commander Maj.-Gen. Ghassem Suleimani as a terrorist for his personal support of the Syrian regime.
In his interview, Shirazi said that Israel was “close to annihilation” and wanted to attack Iran as an act of desperation.
“Are our enemies intelligent, wise or foolish? They are foolish. It’s also possible that they will do this foolish thing [and attack Iran]. Why do we sometimes say this is the strongest probability? Because today the Israelis are telling us that ‘we are not the Israel of yesterday, we are getting weaker day by day and the Islamic Republic is getting stronger day by day,’” he added.
“Well, when Israel finds itself in danger of extinction, it flails around, and so it’s easy for it to do foolish things and will start a war just to sting Iran.”
Shirazi’s remarks echo those of other senior Iranian military leaders, who have repeatedly threatened to respond to any attack by the US and its allies on its nuclear facilities by engaging in a war of attrition.
Iran has also repeatedly paraded what it claims are advances in military technologies, including in ballistic missile technologies, which could be used in such a war.
Significantly, in his interview, Shirazi also denied reports that Suleimani had been killed in the July 18 bombing in Damascus, which killed several of Syrian President Bashar Assad’s top aides.
“There was too much talk in the media, which even said that Suleimani was involved in the conflict and in the bombing in Syria, and some even said that he was killed,” Shirazi said. “But Suleimani wasn’t in Syria; on that day, he was in Iran.”
Although Suleimani has not appeared in public since the bombing, the Iranian state media later published what it claimed to be a photograph of the Qods Force leader attending a July 24 address by Khamenei.
And while a spokesman for the IRGC also dismissed reports of Suleimani’s death, around 10 day ago the Iranian Students’ News Agency published what it alleged was a 1989 interview with the Qods Force commander that included extremely detailed biographical information – an unusual move, especially given that little is known about Suleimani.
Ali Alfoneh, an expert on the IRGC from the American Enterprise Institute, questioned why the Islamic Republic would allow its media to release such private information now.
“Is Suleimani really dead and is this article an attempt to beatify a martyr? It may take some time before we will know the answer, but one thing is for sure: If Suleimani indeed was killed in Damascus, the regime would not admit it.
“The regime is therefore likely to stage Suleimani’s assassination by an obscure terrorist organization inside of Iran.
Helping the Assad regime to kill women and children in Syria is hardly a legacy the state propaganda machine wishes for its martyr,” Alfoneh wrote.

A leaked U.S. Army document obtained by Wired Magazine characterizes people “frustrated with mainstream ideologies” as potential terrorists, while also framing those who “believe in government conspiracies” as violent radicals.
“These are some warning signs that that you have turned into a terrorist who will soon kill your co-workers, according to the U.S. military. You’ve recently changed your “choices in entertainment.” You have “peculiar discussions.” You “complain about bias,” you’re “socially withdrawn” and you’re frustrated with “mainstream ideologies,” writes Spencer Ackerman.
The manual (PDF) was produced in 2011 by the Asymmetric Warfare Group, a unit within the U.S. Army headquartered at Fort Meade, Maryland. The document is intended to weed out “internal threats” within the ranks of U.S. soldiers.
Given that both the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI have identified returning veterans as one of the primary domestic terror threats, the document is seemingly designed to spot such radical extremists well ahead of time.
Examples of behavior that is considered an indication of potential terrorism include the following;
- Complaining about bias;
- Being frustrated with “mainstream ideologies”;
- Being reclusive;
- Believing in government conspiracies “to the point of paranoia”;
- Visiting “extremist” websites or blogs;
- Altering your reading habits;
- Having “peculiar discussions”;
- Being “highly emotional”;
- Using “social networks”.
The Army manual is just one of numerous similar manuals and publications issued by military, law enforcement and the federal government over the last decade which define mundane behavior as extremist and a potential indication of terrorism.
As we reported earlier this month, a leaked training manual used in the State and Local Anti-Terrorism Training (SLATT) program for law enforcement and funded by the Department of Justice lists political bumper stickers expressing opposition to the United Nations and support for the bill of rights as indications of terrorist activity.
The document also characterizes people who hold political opinions that “represent a fairly popular point of view” as terrorists. Anti-abortion activists are also listed as terrorists under this category.
The infamous 2009 MIAC report, published by the Missouri Information Analysis Center and first revealed by Infowars, framed Ron Paul supporters, libertarians, people who display bumper stickers, people who own gold, or even people who fly a U.S. flag, as potential terrorists.
Under the FBI’s Communities Against Terrorism program, the bulk purchase of food is also labeled as a potential indication of terrorist activity, as is using cash to pay for a cup of coffee, and showing an interest in web privacy when using the Internet in a public place.
A recent Department of Homeland Security-funded study produced by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism at the University of Maryland characterizes Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority,” and “reverent of individual liberty” as “extreme right-wing” terrorists.

Michigan State University Professor Strips Naked In Class, Police Arrive To Escort Him To Hospital (PHOTO)

A math professor at Michigan State University allegedly stripped naked, ran naked through his classroom and screamed "There is no f*cking God!" before police apprehended him, according to several reports.
The professor's name has not yet been released, but online, students said he was "eccentric," and that they "could probably have seen this coming."
A Redditor shared a grainy cell phone picture of the man in a hallway at the university as authorities restrained him.
Another user, TheCookieKing shared more details:
"He was screaming profanities and things you really couldn't understand, and something about religion," David Grabowski, an MSU senior, told MLive.com "He was pacing up and down the hallway."
While some people may be laughing about the incident, students have already expressed anger over how long it took for police to arrive:

You know someones crazy when they leave their socks on lmao. At this point everyone in class ran out. We were literally scared for our lives. He was ranting about computers, Steve Jobs (pronounced Jobes), and how everything is just an act. He ran into the hallway and pressed his face up against the windows to the room and said something about him not yelling. Then he ran back in and started crying and pulled a dollar out of his wallet for some reason. At this point, we all knew he had completely lost it.According to Michigan State police, a 9-1-1 call was received at the Ingham County Central Dispatch Center at 1:07 p.m. local time, reporting a man shouting in the hallway of the MSU Engineering Building. MSU police said "a university professor" was taken "into protective custody and transported ... to a local hospital. No one was injured, and the professor is not being charged with a crime. MSU's Counseling Center has reached out to students who may have witnessed the incident to offer any support they need."

"The most concerning thing was the police response time," he said. "It took them more than 15 minutes to arrive. It could have turned into something very bad if he had a weapon on him. It was pretty infuriating to have to wait that long." Boroski said his and Grabowski's professor wouldn't allow students to exit as the man remained in the hallway. Their professor plans to submit a formal complaint to the university and to MSU police regarding the response time, Boroski said.

This
photoshoot entitled “Sweet Escape” is featured in the October issue of W
magazine and was shot by Nick Knight – the director Lady Gaga’s video
“Born This Way” (analyzed on this site). The photoshoot is replete with
Mind Control imagery, complete with references to trauma and alter
personas. The title “Sweet Escape” references the concept of
dissociation. In this image, the otherwordly model appears to be lifting
up while reading a fairytale (which are used to programmed MK slaves).
In
this pic, the model is holding a cage with a bird trapped in it, a
classic symbol representing mind control. To make things more obvious,
one of the birds is hiding one of the model’s eyes while the other is
shown bleeding.
In
this pic, the model is “in the clouds” (dissociation) and there’s
another emphasis on a single eye. She has red scars on her arms and
legs, symbolizing the trauma and abuse of Mind Control.
The
model’s alter persona lies dormant in a stroller while the active
persona is awake. She wears rabbit ears, symbol of mind control (as in
follow the white rabbit towards dissociation).
The
reflection in the mirror is “independent” from the model, symbolizing
the existence of a separate alter persona that is “behind the looking
glass”. Scars on the chair still represent trauma.
Discarted/unused
alter personas laying lifeless on a dead tree. They are “silenced” by
butterflies on their mouth – representing Monarch programming. This
entire photoshoot truly contains almost every symbol associated with
mind control.
The
final images of the photoshoot are a lot darker, as if representing the
final product of the MK slave. In this image, a “black wedding” with
the dark side…the model doesn’t seem to happy about it.

Gaga “tributing” Michael Jackson during a London fashion week. That’s
great, but why is she wearing big-ass Mickey Mouse ears (a symbol of
mind control)? Is she ridiculing the fact that MJ was a victim of the MK
music industry?
During
the same fashion show, Gaga wore another outfit. But let’s try to
ignore that flowery thing she has on her face and let’s look at the guy
next to her: hat designer Philip Treacy. His t-shirt is also referring
to Michael Jackson in an odd way, with a one-eyed charicatural version
of him. Why does it seem like people in the industry ridicule MJ’s
death? How about stopping these questionable “tributes” and let him

Pop Star Claims Sex With Ghost

Artists and musicians are always seeking inspiration for their work, and in a recent radio interview with Ryan Seacrest, pop star Kesha talked about the inspiration for her new song "Supernatural." While many singers like Taylor Swift and Adele produce heartfelt songs about love and loss, Kesha's was a little different.
"There are so many weird topics on this record from having sexy time with a ghost to getting hypnotized and going into past lives. I just really wanted the theme of this record to be the magic of life," she told Seacrest.
Yes, "having sexy time" means what you think it means: Her song is about the time she had sex with a ghost. "I had a couple of experiences with the supernatural. I don't know his name! He was a ghost! I'm very open to it....I was in Africa rehabilitating baby lions. I went diving with great white sharks, and just went on this crazy spirit quest. I got hypnotized, and I just really wanted this record to be really positive, really raw, really vulnerable and about the magic of life."
While this may seem like a bizarre (or publicity-savvy) revelation, Kesha is not alone; in fact many people have reported similar sexual experiences with spirits... and psychologists may have an explanation.
Succubi, Incubi, and Psychology
This phenomenon is not new, and is the basis for medieval legends about male and female demons (incubus and succubus respectively), who sexually attack people at night in their sleep. In centuries past, a woman claiming to have had sexual relations with an unseen spirit would likely have been accused of witchcraft. Indeed, the notorious 1486 witch-hunting text "Malleus Maleficarum" contains a section titled, "Here follows the Way whereby Witches copulate with these Devils known as Incubi," in which the authors explain that sex with the unknown is inherently evil and a clear sign of congress with Satan.
In his book "The Terror that Comes in the Night," folklorist David J. Hufford estimates that about 15 percent of people experience being assaulted in their sleep by an unknown entity at some point in their lives.
These attacks -- sometimes scary, sometimes sexy, but always realistic to the person experiencing them -- are the result of normal brain misperceptions and illusions. Last year a British grandmother complained of being sexually assaulted by a ghost while in bed. She felt "a creepy pair of hands" groping her as she tried to sleep, though no one else was around.
Kesha did not elaborate on the circumstances behind her exciting encounter with the anonymous phantom paramour, but it's likely she experienced it in bed either while sleeping, or going into or out of sleep. Psychologists know that this is a time when people are vulnerable to common (and harmless) hallucinations -- including sexual experiences.
There may also be a clue in Kesha's comment about being hynotized; people who are under hypnosis tend to be in a very suggestible state (criteria for hypnotizability include being imaginative and open to suggestion).
If she had the experience during a personal, spiritual quest for the supernatural, her mind and imagination would be primed to interpret any unusual experiences as magical. An especially vivid or arousing sexual dream could easily have been interpreted as having been a real encounter with a ghost.

Researcher Says Army Scientists Secretly Sprayed Cities with Radioactive Particles for Years.

According to Lisa Martino-Taylor, a sociologist, the United States military carried out top secret experiments involving the spraying of radioactive particles on residents of St. Louis, Missouri for years.
This is hardly surprising given the fact that the entire United States is currently engaged in a massive human experiment when we already know that the results will be nothing short of horrific.
Let’s also not forget that we continue to support the use of dangerous substances and technologies, even though we know that disaster is a certainty.
It is public knowledge that the government sprayed zinc cadmium sulfide particles – which are supposedly harmless – over St. Louis, but Professor Martino-Taylor says that her research indicates a radioactive additive was also mixed in with the compound.
The targets of these experiments were primarily minorities and low-income communities – again, hardly surprising given the U.S. government’s history of conducting brutal tests on disadvantaged populations – who had no clue that they were being subjected to dangerous chemicals from 1953-1954 and 1963-1965.
Martino-Taylor’s research uncovered photographs showing just how these particles were distributed as well as detailed descriptions of how the public was exposed to these substances in the name of keeping America safe.
In Corpus Christi, Texas the chemical was dispersed over large portions of the city from airplanes while in St. Louis, the U.S. Army placed chemical sprayers on schools and public housing projects, among other buildings, as well as on station wagons for mobile spraying.
Even local politicians were kept totally out of the loop with St. Louis residents simply being told that the Army was testing smoke screen technology to protect American cities from a potential Russian attack.
“The study was secretive for reason,” said Martino-Taylor to St. Louis’ KSDK. “They didn’t have volunteers stepping up and saying yeah, I’ll breathe zinc cadmium sulfide with radioactive particles.”
“It was pretty shocking. The level of duplicity and secrecy. Clearly they went to great lengths to deceive people,” she said.
Personally, I find this level of duplicity and secrecy far from shocking given that we are talking about the American government here.
Martino-Taylor had to file hundreds of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to get a hold of the once-classified documents confirming the spraying program.
Her research determined that the greatest concentration of spraying was focused on the Pruitt-Igoe housing complex, which is located northwest of downtown St. Louis in the Carr Square neighborhood.
This complex, which was destroyed in 1972, housed some 10,000 people with low incomes, an estimated 70 percent of which were children under the age of 12.
“This was a violation of all medical ethics, all international codes, and the military’s own policy at that time,” Martino-Taylor said.
The earlier evidence emerged in the 1990s when then-Congressman Richard Gephardt called on the Army to open their records and given an explanation for their testing in St. Louis.
“We want to make sure nothing went on that would harm anyone, and that all the fact[s] are out on the table,” Gephardt said at the time.
The documents which were eventually released revealed that the United States Army actually placed sprayers on various buildings, although the Army continued to insist that the chemicals were totally safe.
Martino-Taylor’s research shows that this is far from the truth.
“There is a lot of evidence that shows people in St. Louis and the city, in particular minority communities, were subjected to military testing that was connected to a larger radiological weapons testing project,” said Martino-Taylor.
Martino-Taylor’s findings link the program to U.S. Radium, a company infamous for being hit with lawsuits over their workers getting contaminated by radiation.
“US radium had this reputation where they had been found legally liable for producing a radioactive powdered paint that killed many young women who painted fluorescent watch tiles,” Martino-Taylor said.
The U.S. Army does, in fact, admit that they added a fluorescent substance to the compound they sprayed, but the details of the radioactivity of the added substance remains completely secret and likely will for quite a while.
The documents uncovered by Martino-Taylor show that the Army never so much as conducted a single follow-up study to see if the compound they sprayed did long term damage to the people unwittingly subjected to their experimentation.
“Through this case study, the author explores how a large number of participants inside an organization will willingly participate in organizational acts that are harmful to others, and how large numbers of outsiders, who may or may not be victims of organizational activities, are unable to determine illegal or harmful activity by an organization,” Martino-Taylor wrote.
Indeed, hopefully this case will help strengthen the now massive body of evidence which proves that “our” government, in fact, regularly treats us like nothing more than lab rats, cannon fodder and collateral for loans.

Cops to Answer in Court for 'Stoning' of Christians.

Hundreds of angry Muslims threw chunks of concrete and eggs at a team of Christians, spraying them with urine and cursing at them – all while police stood by and then threatened the victims with “disorderly conduct.”
Egypt? Saudi Arabia? Somalia?
No. Dearborn, Mich.
So now a team of attorneys from the American Freedom Law Center is going to court on behalf of the victims of the violent Muslim mob at the Arab International Festival last June, an attack that was captured on video.
The federal civil rights complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan names as defendants officials from the Wayne County sheriff’s office who “sided with the Muslim mob intent on suppressing the Christians’ speech.”
The complaint explains authorities not only failed to protect the Christians, they ordered them to leave the Arab Festival under threat of arrest for “disorderly conduct.”
However, not one Muslim was arrested for the attack that left several members of the Christian group bloodied, the complaint states.
Among the defendants is Deputy Chief Mike Jaafar, a Muslim who was featured in the now-canceled show “All American Muslim,” which appeared on The Learning Channel.
As WND reported, the crowd can be heard chanting “Allahu Akbar!” – Arabic for “Allah is the greatest!”– on the video.
It shows the crowd – reminiscent of a rock-throwing “intifada” scene from the Middle East – hurling a dizzying barrage of objects at the Christians standing passively with their signs, causing some injuries.
WND later learned that the Christian crowd had been carrying a pole with a pig’s head attached to the top, further angering the Muslim crowd. At the beginning of the video, Christian street preachers shout, “God is good, and God is not Allah!”
First, police approached Ruben Israel of OfficialStreetPreachers.com, warning him: “The city of Dearborn has an ordinance, OK, that you guys can’t use the megaphone. So, if you guys continue to use that, you will get a citation.”
Israel noted that the group was allowed to use the megaphone in 2011. Then he asked the officer, “So, if we don’t use a megaphone, can we throw water bottles at the crowd?”
The officer shook his head.
“So what are you going to do if they throw water bottles at us?” Israel asked.
“If that happens, we will take care of that and address it,” the officer promised.
When Israel said he had captured the mob’s assault on the Christians on video, the officer suggested he “take it through the proper channels, and we’ll try to find them.”
However, at the 2:17 mark of the video, the mob can be heard screaming: “You want to jump ‘em? C’mon, let’s go!”
One boy yells, “Let’s beat the sh-t out of them!”
A girl shouts, “Go home! Do you understand English?!”
The Christians are no longer using megaphones, as the mob advances on them from all angles – hurling bottles, cans, eggs, chunks of concrete and even milk crates toward their heads.
Even young children shout obscenities such as, “F—k you, b-tch!”
Meanwhile, police are nowhere to be seen in the video.
One of the Christians asks another, “Is this worse than last year?”
He replies, “Oh my goodness, yeah!! This is insanity.”
An irate 18-year-old man from Iraq gets into the Christians’ faces, screaming: “If you don’t like Dearborn, then go the f—k back home! … I am an American citizen, and I have my rights. There’s freedom of religion, isn’t there?”
He screams, “So why do you guys pray like this on the bank? Oh Lord. Why don’t you get on the ground, like the prophets, huh? You’re Christian. That’s what it says in the Bible, you stupid sh-t!”
Many minutes into the video and after much of the shouting takes place, Dearborn mounted police ride through the crowd. The video states that no arrests were made.
According to the video, the mob began chucking more stones, bottles and debris as the Christians were injured and property damaged.
“Dearborn Police finally arrive after 30 mins of assault,” a caption states.
Despite the attacks the Christians had endured, a man identified in the video as Deputy Chief Dennis Richardson of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office tells them, “You’re a danger to the safety right now.”
Officers claim they don’t have the manpower to protect the Christians at the festival.
“Your safety is in harm’s way. You need to protect everybody,” said Deputy Chief Mike Jaafar of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. “You do have the option to leave. I just want to make that clear.”
Israel replied, “You have the option to stand with us” as Jaafar walked away, leaving the Christians to the mob.
When police leave, the crowd continues harassing the Christians and screaming profanities.
Then police begin escorting the Christians away from the crowd.
Deputy Chief Richardson tells Israel: “We have the responsibility of policing the entire festival, and obviously your conduct is such that it’s causing a disturbance and is a direct threat to the safety of everyone here. Someone could get hurt. You already have blood on your face. One of the festival people, one of my officers, anybody can get hurt. Now we’re going to escort you out.”
Israel explains that the mob throws things and becomes more aggressive when police leave the scene.
“Part of the reason that they throw things on someone is because you tell them stuff that enrages them,” Richardson argues.
The AFLC said the Christians were wearing shirts with Scripture quotes and Christian messages.
“In our society, which is guided by Judeo-Christian principles, free speech and religious freedom are protected against censorship or punishment,” said Robert Muise, AFLC co-founder and senior counsel.
“Consequently, law enforcement officials have a constitutional duty not to effectuate a heckler’s veto, nor may they join a violent mob intent on suppressing speech. Instead, officials must take reasonable action to protect persons exercising their free speech rights. Here, we have an angry and violent mob of Muslims intent on suppressing free speech and law enforcement officials aiding and abetting the violence in violation of the Constitution.”
Daivd Yerushalmi, co-founder of the AFLC, said: “What is shocking is that this Shariah-mandated violence in response to speech contrary to Islam is not just occurring overseas in places like Egypt and Libya, it is happening right here in the United States. One thing is clear: no citizen should be stoned in a city street in America for exercising his constitutional rights. In the United States, the Constitution is the supreme law of the land, not Shariah.”
AFLC attorneys already successfully have litigated several challenges on behalf of Christians whose rights were violated in Dearborn – which is described as “a city with one of the largest Muslim populations in the United States.”
The team said, for example, a Christian pastor was banned from handing out Christian literature in 2009, and the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decided the pastor’s First Amendment rights were trampled.
Then the next year, four Christians were handcuffed and jailed by police for preaching during the Arab Festival. They were accused of “breach of the peace.”
A jury acquitted the four, and in a subsequent civil rights complaint, a federal judge rejected city demands to dismiss it.
The current case alleges Wayne County officials violated the Christians’ rights to freedom of speech and the free exercise of religion protected by the First Amendment, and that the officials deprived the Christians of the equal protection of the law guaranteed under the Fourteenth Amendment.

Hundreds of angry Muslims threw chunks of concrete and eggs at a team of Christians, spraying them with urine and cursing at them – all while police stood by and then threatened the victims with “disorderly conduct.”
Egypt? Saudi Arabia? Somalia?
So now a team of attorneys from the American Freedom Law Center is going to court on behalf of the victims of the violent Muslim mob at the Arab International Festival last June, an attack that was captured on video.
The federal civil rights complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan names as defendants officials from the Wayne County sheriff’s office who “sided with the Muslim mob intent on suppressing the Christians’ speech.”
The complaint explains authorities not only failed to protect the Christians, they ordered them to leave the Arab Festival under threat of arrest for “disorderly conduct.”
However, not one Muslim was arrested for the attack that left several members of the Christian group bloodied, the complaint states.
Among the defendants is Deputy Chief Mike Jaafar, a Muslim who was featured in the now-canceled show “All American Muslim,” which appeared on The Learning Channel.
As WND reported, the crowd can be heard chanting “Allahu Akbar!” – Arabic for “Allah is the greatest!”– on the video.
It shows the crowd – reminiscent of a rock-throwing “intifada” scene from the Middle East – hurling a dizzying barrage of objects at the Christians standing passively with their signs, causing some injuries.
WND later learned that the Christian crowd had been carrying a pole with a pig’s head attached to the top, further angering the Muslim crowd. At the beginning of the video, Christian street preachers shout, “God is good, and God is not Allah!”
First, police approached Ruben Israel of OfficialStreetPreachers.com, warning him: “The city of Dearborn has an ordinance, OK, that you guys can’t use the megaphone. So, if you guys continue to use that, you will get a citation.”
Israel noted that the group was allowed to use the megaphone in 2011. Then he asked the officer, “So, if we don’t use a megaphone, can we throw water bottles at the crowd?”
The officer shook his head.
“So what are you going to do if they throw water bottles at us?” Israel asked.
“If that happens, we will take care of that and address it,” the officer promised.
When Israel said he had captured the mob’s assault on the Christians on video, the officer suggested he “take it through the proper channels, and we’ll try to find them.”
However, at the 2:17 mark of the video, the mob can be heard screaming: “You want to jump ‘em? C’mon, let’s go!”
One boy yells, “Let’s beat the sh-t out of them!”
A girl shouts, “Go home! Do you understand English?!”
The Christians are no longer using megaphones, as the mob advances on them from all angles – hurling bottles, cans, eggs, chunks of concrete and even milk crates toward their heads.
Even young children shout obscenities such as, “F—k you, b-tch!”
Meanwhile, police are nowhere to be seen in the video.
One of the Christians asks another, “Is this worse than last year?”
He replies, “Oh my goodness, yeah!! This is insanity.”
An irate 18-year-old man from Iraq gets into the Christians’ faces, screaming: “If you don’t like Dearborn, then go the f—k back home! … I am an American citizen, and I have my rights. There’s freedom of religion, isn’t there?”
He screams, “So why do you guys pray like this on the bank? Oh Lord. Why don’t you get on the ground, like the prophets, huh? You’re Christian. That’s what it says in the Bible, you stupid sh-t!”
Many minutes into the video and after much of the shouting takes place, Dearborn mounted police ride through the crowd. The video states that no arrests were made.
According to the video, the mob began chucking more stones, bottles and debris as the Christians were injured and property damaged.
“Dearborn Police finally arrive after 30 mins of assault,” a caption states.
Despite the attacks the Christians had endured, a man identified in the video as Deputy Chief Dennis Richardson of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office tells them, “You’re a danger to the safety right now.”
Officers claim they don’t have the manpower to protect the Christians at the festival.
“Your safety is in harm’s way. You need to protect everybody,” said Deputy Chief Mike Jaafar of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. “You do have the option to leave. I just want to make that clear.”
Israel replied, “You have the option to stand with us” as Jaafar walked away, leaving the Christians to the mob.
When police leave, the crowd continues harassing the Christians and screaming profanities.
Then police begin escorting the Christians away from the crowd.

City of Toronto Workers Destroy Free Community Food Garden Amid Growing Food Crisis

Occupy Gardens plants in Queens Park destroyed without harvesting food.
Amid a growing food crisis, this morning workers from the City of
Toronto were ordered by City of Toronto Parks Director Richard Ubbens
that all live plants and food be removed from the People's Peas Garden
in Queens Park. They were ordered to take the plants and food to the
dump and lay sod overtop of this most beautiful free community food
garden, without warning, without a chance to remove the rare heirloom
plant species or harvest the food.
The garden was planted by Occupy Gardens and allies on May 1st, in defense of local and global food security. While the garden has been growing undisturbed for nearly 5 months, with the help of hundreds in the community, the city deliberately decided to have it removed upon the eve of the Autumn Jam: A Harvest Party and celebration of sharing, community and free local food, which is happening tomorrow from 12-6pm at the garden in Queens Park (northwest section).
The reason? The people did not have permission to grow free food on public land. I come from a city and country where one does not need permission to do the right thing. We are experiencing a "glocal" food crisis, where more and more people are lining up at food banks for kraft dinner and peanut butter, waiting lists for community gardens are growing, food prices rising, and our leaders are nowhere to be seen. Rather they are hiding behind their desk ordering the workers to destroy whatever hope we have left.
We need help sharing this story far and wide.
We will be having our Autumn Jam harvest party/vigil tomorrow as scheduled from 12noon-6pm in the northwest section of Queens Park.
As a side note - last Monday Sept 17th gardeners travelled to Ottawa on a Peas Keeping mission for national, global food security, where we planted a free heart-shaped food garden on Parliament Hill, at which point the RCMP stomped on the plants and threatened arresting people, we removed the plants and relayed the sod.
